Acoustic Labs Software specializes in multitrack recording applications. Multitrack recording is the process of recording each voice, sound or instrument of an audio production to an independent track. The tracks are kept independent in order to allow for each track to be manipulated individually. During playback, all tracks of the production are mixed together, in perfect sync before sending the audio output to the audio I/O device. When the user is satisfied with the overall sound of the production they may easily mix the project down to a single audio source, such as an audio file, which can then easily be written to an audio CD, transferred to a portable playing device such as an iPod, sent in email, or any other action you'd normally take with an audio file.
The importance of multitrack recording rests with the ability to manipulate instruments and sounds independently. For example, if you wish to change the volume level of one of the audio tracks (i.e. a single instrument, sound or voice) without affecting the others, this can be easily performed. In addition to this, a variety of editing operations and effects can be performed on each track independently.
